At the turnstile as you enter the Therme Vals there is a brass plaque pointing the way: "Therapie."A stairway to the left leads below the bathing level to a floor dedicated to the wellbeing of our guests. The therapies and treatments offered here are designed to relieve tension and pamper: masks, exfoliation, baths, wraps, and massages.

Here, the Vals gneiss is polished and smooth – velvety concrete walls with noble brass doors on the mountain side; the treatment area on the valley side. Watsu (from the Engl. word for water; and the Japanese word shiatsu,
„finger pressure“), or water shiatsu is an application of alternative
medicine or hydrotherapy. The therapist stands in chest-deep water
and moves the guest in accordance with predetermined figures,
thus combining the positive properties of water with the basic effects
of Shiatsu. The treatment takes place in 35 ° C water. The body –
weightlessly floating in the water- undergoes passive lengthening
